Parent Participation
Family involvement is what makes cooperative preschools so unique. Each family either holds a parent job, serves on a committee or the Parent Board of Directors. Some of the jobs require work evenly spread throughout the year, and others are seasonally intensive, with down time between tasks. For example, some parents make play dough, do laundry, repair toys, make library trips, help care for school pets, or help organize fundraising events.
In addition, each family will be required to fulfill 12 volunteer/maintenance hours. These hours can be fulfilled by working school opening or school maintenance days. Families can also sign up to work at our school booth at community events. You may also be able to fulfill hours by coordinating special projects with teachers or the director. All unfulfilled hours will be billed at the end of the year at the rate of $30 per hour.
By joining the MHPCNS community you help us join together to aid in the running of the school.
