OUR TEACHERS

Our teachers are trained and educated in the early childhood field and positive discipline, and are dedicated to providing a quality preschool program for your children. They are caring and enjoy working as a team with you to support your child's developmental needs.

Ms. Elizabeth Huckaby

Director and Pre-K Teacher

Elizabeth is a San Jose State graduate, earning a BA in Childhood and Adolescent Development, with an emphasis in education. She is also a Certified Positive Discipline Early Childhood Educator. She has been an early childhood educator since her first job out of high school in 2006. Although her heart is in preschool age, she has also taught second grade in Morgan Hill.

Elizabeth loves the fulfilling role of a teacher, watching children grow, learn, and gain confidence. Leading the class while encouraging autonomy allows for growth in individual students as well as relationships between students and adults.

Elizabeth is a mama of three awesome school aged children, a daughter and twins in the dual immersion Spanish/English program at San Martin Gwinn Elementary.

Keep an eye out on hiking trails, local parks and the local animal shelter and you will probably run into Elizabeth and her family!

Kristina is a graduate of Sacramento State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development. She currently holds a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Kristina has a passion for working with children and is excited to join the MHPCNS team as the 2/3s teacher. She has been a parent in both the 3/4s class and Toddler and Me program. She is looking forward to being back in the classroom and making an impact at MHPCNS.

Kristina is a published author of a children's book called "Forever in Our Hearts." The book addresses miscarriage and the mark that an unborn baby can have on a family from a child's perspective. Kristina is also a wife and mother of four children, two girls and two boys.

In her free time, Kristina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, making Shutterfly books, camping, watching Survivor, traveling, snowboarding, dancing, playing games, and laughing.

Ms. Kimberly Lewis

3/4s and Toddler & Me Teacher

Kimberly graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Behavioral Health (Child Psychology and Development Concentration) with a minor in Family Studies. She has studied the philosophies and methodologies specific to Alfred Adler, Erik Erikson, Magda Gerber, and Maria Montessori and is a Certified Positive Discipline Early Childhood Educator.

Her goal is to help children navigate through the many aspects of early childhood, including: body boundaries, self advocacy, emotional regulation, etc., and encourage them to build their confidence and self-reliance through experiences. She is passionate about working with preschoolers and believe that early childhood education is a foundational experience for scaffolding life skills later in life.

She has been a part of the MHPCNS teaching staff since 2019. Her oldest has graduated from MHPCNS, and her other two are currently attending! If she’s not volunteering at her oldest’s school or teaching at the co-op, she’s probably at Trader Joe's or bringing home another foster dog!
